Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation delivering primary and clinical health care services to Aboriginal people in Katherine and surrounding communities. Wurli prides itself on providing a range of health services in a culturally appropriate manner that ensures clients feel welcome, safe, and comfortable.
Wurli operates multiple clinics and programs, including the main clinic (acute and general care), Gudbinji Chronic Disease Clinic, Binjari Health Clinic, and Women's and Children's and Men's Health programs. These services are supported by a multidisciplinary team, including Registered Aboriginal Health Practitioners.
The Clinic Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic by providing high-quality reception and administrative support to patients, clinical staff, and other service areas. This role requires a caring, respectful, and professional approach, with a strong focus on delivering excellent service to all clients.
Key Areas of Responsibility
In a culturally sensitive manner, provide a range of reception and administrative support services, including but not limited to:
Reception Duties
* Act as the first point of contact for all clients attending the clinic
* Greet clients and determine their service needs
* Schedule and manage client appointments
* Check clients into services
* Advise clients of any delays
* Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously
* Manage incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes
* Ensure all correspondence is recorded appropriately
* Complete the daily clinic reception checklist

* Professional presentation
* Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills
* Strong organisational skills, with reliability and punctuality
* Knowledge of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
* Experience in reception and administrative functions
* Ability to use and troubleshoot standard office equipment
* Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook) and Communicare or similar systems
Qualifications and Required Documents
* A Certificate III in Health Administration or Certificate III in Business Administration (Medical)
* A current National Police Certificate (no more than 3 months old)
* A current Northern Territory Driver's Licence
* A current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
* Current resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
