**About the role**:
We are recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join our Finance Department, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager and Senior Accountant.
You will be responsible for providing accurate, timely, and efficient payroll services across multiple small businesses located around Australia.
The role ensures all payroll related activities are completed according to designated time-frames and in accordance with relevant Awards, taxation, and other legislation.
**Key Responsibilities include:**
* End to end accurately and timely processing of the fortnightly employee payroll;
* Support with the completion of Superannuation payments, single touch payroll, and payslips;
* Maintain current award updates and payroll adjustments;
* Maintenance of employee records, including entering new & updating existing employees into the Payroll system;
* Assist with EOY reports and reconciliations;
* Ensuring compliance within relevant industrial instruments;
* Collaborate with the HR team to ensure payroll deliverables are completed on time;
* Assist with preparation, interpretation, and reconciliation of payroll reports (EOY & ad-hoc reporting);
* Assist with general payroll inquiries and provide guidance and advice to managers and employees relating to their payroll and entitlements;
* Support continuous improvement and efficiencies in the payroll function;
* Ensure a high level of confidentiality and discretion is exercised at all times.

**Preferred Skills and Attributes include:**
* Previous experience working in a payroll environment;
* Demonstrated experience working across multiple Awards and various state and national legislation;
* Experience working with Easy Employer or similar platform;
* Previous experience using Xero are preferred but not essential;
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite;
* Experience completing superannuation, EOM and EOY reconciliations.
