About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling structural steel components to meet project specifications.
Your primary focus will be on interpreting workshop and engineering drawings accurately, operating fabrication equipment such as welders, presses, and grinders, and conducting quality checks to ensure high standards of workmanship.
You will work closely with our team members to meet project timelines and follow all workplace safety procedures and Australian Standards. Additionally, you will maintain an organized, safe, and efficient workshop space and support other team members as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)
* Solid MIG and stick welding experience for structural work
* Ability to read and work from detailed technical drawings
* Experience with a variety of tools for cutting, grinding, bending, and assembling
* Sound understanding of steel fabrication processes and techniques
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* White Card
* Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
* A keen eye for detail and pride in your workmanship
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision
* A strong team player with good communication skills
* Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
