A rapidly expanding global defence and aviation organisation is establishing a major airborne capability in Australia. As they stand up a new high‑profile program, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to drive delivery across transition, integration, and operational phases. This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation at a formative stage, shaping a capability of national importance.
Your New Role
In this role, you will lead the end‑to‑end project management of a complex, multi‑stream ISR program. You will:
Oversee daily project delivery across engineering, logistics, training, and operations.
Manage planning, scheduling, and coordination of work packages during the Transition‑In and operational phases.
Develop and maintain the Contract Master Schedule (CMS) and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
Support governance, risk management, progress reporting, and milestone delivery.
Coordinate key interactions with subcontractors, suppliers, and Commonwealth stakeholders.
Monitor project performance across cost, schedule, and quality.
Contribute to program management plans including risk, fraud control, data management, and contract management.
Prepare Contract Status Reports, schedule updates, and resource forecasts.
Support training, workforce readiness, and sustainment planning.
Participate in Verification & Validation (V&V) planning and ensure readiness for operational acceptance.
Drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced delivery environment.
What You'll Need to Succeed
You will bring:
A degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
PMP or equivalent project management certification (highly regarded).
Minimum 5 years' experience delivering complex Defence, aerospace, or government programs.
Experience with ASDEFCON frameworks, CMS development, and Contract Status Reporting.
Understanding of CASA Part 138 or Part 145 environments (advantageous).
Strong capability in risk, schedule, and cost management.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams and manage subcontractors.
Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Planner, etc.).
Australian Citizenship and current AGSVA clearance - Baseline or NV1 security clearance.
