THE ROLE
Ora Banda Mining are growing our HST team and have a brand-new opportunity to welcome a Hygienist to the team. The role will be based at the Davyhurst Gold Mine in the eastern goldfields. The 8/6 roster is available FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie. The Ora Banda buzz is real - this is an opportunity not to be missed
* Develop, implement, and review the site Health and Hygiene Management Plan (HHMP) in accordance with Regulation 675EA
* Conduct regular monitoring of airborne contaminants (dust, silica, diesel particulate matter), noise, vibration, and thermal stress
* Conduct potable water sampling for all operational areas of the mine site
* Coordinate health monitoring for workers where risks exist, ensuring compliance with Part 10.2, Division 3 of the WA WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022
* Manage hygiene data in the Safety Regulation System (SRS) and company databases and prepare reports for the HST Manager - Operations and other stakeholders such as the Site Senior Executive (SSE)
* Audit and verify the effectiveness of critical controls (e.g., surface ventilation systems, dust suppression) and PPE
* Maintain the site chemical register and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring risk assessments are completed for all chemical use
* Develop training hygiene associated presentations for toolbox sessions and other safety meetings
* Maintain compliance with required standards and legislation
ABOUT YOU
* A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Science, or Engineering
* Noise Officer Certification (WA)
* Mine Air Quality Officer Certification
* In depth understanding of the Workplace Exposure Standards for Airborne Contaminants in the mining industry
* Successfully completed the WA Mining Law Examination (applicable to statutory positions)
