Aboriginal Education Officer Role Overview
This key role connects Indigenous students, their families, the school, and the wider community. The Aboriginal Education Officer provides cultural, educational, and pastoral support to ensure every Indigenous student thrives academically and personally.
Responsibilities Include:
* Strengthening relationships with First Nations families and welcoming new families into the school community.
* Supporting Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) development and implementation.
* Celebrating and promoting Aboriginal culture across the whole school.
* Providing literacy and numeracy support for Aboriginal students in class and small group/individual settings.
* Encouraging regular attendance, supporting transitions, and exploring career pathways with students.
* Offering pastoral care, encouragement, and guidance to Aboriginal students.
* Collaborating with teachers and school leadership for culturally inclusive learning experiences.
