About the work unit / facility The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit is a 38‑bed acute inpatient service located at Townsville University Hospital. It provides specialised care for consumers experiencing acute episodes of mental illness. The service is recovery‑focused, delivering safe, contemporary care within the least restrictive environment possible. Care is delivered through a multidisciplinary approach. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1) * 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading * 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation * On-call and shift allowances (where applicable) * Plus great Salary Packaging options to increase take-home pay About your opportunity In this role, you will work collaboratively with consumers and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality clinical care and support a therapeutic environment that upholds the dignity and wellbeing of consumers and their carers within the Mental Health Service. Requirements: * Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with AHPRA. * Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster. Highly desirable: * Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus. * Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016.
