About the role
Vitura Health Limited is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in South Yarra, Victoria for a 6-month fixed term maternity leave assignment. As a full-time role, this position plays a crucial part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our valued employees.
What you'll be doing
* Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including data entry, calculations, and statutory reporting for multiple pay cycles and entities
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, industry standards, and internal policies
* Continuously improve payroll procedures and implement new systems and technologies to enhance efficiency
* Provide training and support to the wider finance team on payroll-related matters
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and payroll documentation
* Process superannuation, PAYG, leave, and other statutory entitlements.
* Submit STP reports and reconcile payroll each cycle, ensuring compliance.
* Respond to client and employee payroll queries professionally and efficiently.
* Stay up to date with legislative changes, payroll system updates, and best practice.
* Collaborate with your team and escalate complex payroll or HR issues as required.
What We're Looking For:
* 3+ years' experience in Australian payroll, ideally in senior or ASX environments.
* Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation and payroll compliance requirements.
* Proven ability to interpret Awards accurately and confidently.
* Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide guidance to employees professionally.
* Proactive, flexible, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.
* Must be willing to undertake a National Police Check
