Working at SPS you will get the opportunity to work with the biggest players in the Australian market and the some of the largest and most complex generator designs in the world.Smarter Power Solutions is seeking the service of a highly competent electrical power systems engineer, experienced in supporting grid connection applications in the NEM to be part of growing and ambitious team.
The work will present a wide variety of technical challenges and would suit a candidate who:Wants to work with a team of experts, with opportunity to have fun at work while being highly productive.Wants to work in a growing business and is motivated and can drive projects forward.Wants to work flexibly and with remote working environment.Wants increased autonomy to follow up opportunities.RoleUndertaking grid connection studies and supporting power system modelling team for utility scale solar, wind and energy storage projects.Working closely with project developers, investors, consultants, NSPs and AEMO to understand specific project requirements and resolve any product related modelling or functional issues.Performing power system modelling, Dynamic and Steady-State Analysis using PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory.Preparation of NSPs Grid Connection application documents and technical reports, interface with clients and NSPs/AEMO for information gathering and technical discussions.RequirementsProven experience on GPS studies and record of grid connection applications in the NEM.Detailed knowledge of National Electricity Rules, GPS study requirements, AEMO R1 and R2 process for grid connected generators, renewable energy power plant design and application.Proficient in PSSE, PSCAD.
