As the HSE Advisor you are responsible for assisting the HSEQ Manager in developing and implementing HSE strategies, policies, practices, procedures and programs that will assist Leed Group and associated organisations to enhance and sustain a strong HSE culture. Your focus will be on proactive engagement, continuous improvement, and cultivating a shared commitment to health, safety and environmental performance and compliance across all projects and teams.
In addition you are responsible for promoting HSE awareness aimed at identifying areas with the greatest opportunity to improve the overall safety culture of our organisation.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Comply with Federal and State legislation which is contained and expressed through company and/or project/ client policies, systems, procedures, processes and guidelines.
* Assist in the development of HS&E plans and strategies.
* Prepare, compile HS&E information and reports for submission/tenders or as required.
* Develop, implement and maintain HS&E systems and documentation.
* Conduct compliance and workplace audits and inspections to assess adherence to risk management policies.
* Investigate HS&E incidents/issues as required; provide accurate reports and recommendations, corrective actions and/or preventative actions/measures.
* Develop and present relevant tool box talks and other communications as required.
* Provide practical, accurate and current HS&E advice to all Leed employees, subcontractors and visitors.
* Be the catalyst for activity and commitment to environmental management.
About You
* Extensive experience as a HSE generalist, ideally within civil engineering environments.
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent), and First Aid Certificate.
* Ability to provide continuous improvement and innovation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Sound listening and effective negotiation skills to implement change.
* Ability to consistently demonstrate a commitment to the Leed values.
* Experience operating within an ISO and FSC accredited environment.
* Practical skills in developing a positive safety culture on project sites.
* Auditing experience and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, and Certificate IV in Environmental Management would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be subject to the satisfactory completion of pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol screening.
