About the role
Masterchef Winner 2019, Larissa Takchi, will be opening up "Luca" bakery in a quaint little village in Castle hill NSW 2154. Larissa is looking for a skilled chef in pastry and baking who can help make Luca bakery come to life, from the ground up She has already delved into traditional baking techniques and has a passion in utilising local ingredients from her local growers in all her bakes. She would like a skilled pastry chef / baker to continue on this line of work through all types of sourdough breads and pastry.
With her reputation amongst the public and locals in the area, we expect "Luca" to take off in the area, which means we are looking for a baker who will be able to keep up with the demand and is open to creativity.
In this key role, you will be responsible for the preparation and baking of a wide range of high-quality bread, pastries and other baked goods to delight our customers.
Our local bakery will be open Tuesday to Saturday. 6.30am-4.30pm with Mondays and Sundays off.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare ingredients and batches of dough for breads, pastries and other baked goods according to recipes and standards
* Operate and maintain commercial baking equipment to produce a variety of products
* Ensure all baked goods meet quality and presentation standards before being displayed or sold
* Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment in the bakery
* Collaborate with the wider team to meet production targets and customer demand
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as a professional Baker or Pastry Chef, ideally within a commercial bakery or food production environment
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques, recipes and food safety standards
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands
* Good attention to detail and commitment to quality and presentation
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills
