Join Houlihan Lokey's Financial Restructuring team as an Off-Cycle Intern in Sydney, assisting with complex restructuring and distressed M&A transactions.
Your Role
Here's what you will be doing:
* Assist with creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed M&A transactions
* Advise companies and stakeholders in out-of-court and in-court restructurings
* Support raising debt and equity financings
* Provide distressed M&A advisory services
* Advise in special situations involving distressed investing
* Participate in complex negotiations on behalf of clients
* Work as part of deal teams including managing directors, vice presidents, associates, and financial analysts
About You
The company is looking for:
* Strong academic track record with or on track for a 2:1 degree in accounting, economics, and/or finance
* Top academic performer and quick learner capable of working in an unstructured environment
* Demonstrated interest in restructuring
* Prior investment banking internship experience (M&A, industry team, leverage finance, or restructuring) is desirable but not essential
* Thorough understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
* Strong LBO and DCF modelling skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
* Exceptional strong work ethic
* Graduation date of December 2026
* Right to work in the country
* Motivated and able to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding environment
