Overview
The City of Launceston is seeking a skilled and motivated GIS Administrator to join our Property and Asset Strategy – GIS Team. This specialist technical role supports the organisation's use of spatial data and enterprise GIS platforms to improve service delivery, efficiency and decision‐making.
The GIS Administrator is responsible for the design, development, administration and ongoing support of Council's ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise environment and related databases. You will provide expert technical advice, support system integration with TechnologyOne and other corporate systems, and ensure the GIS environment is secure, scalable and aligned with best practice.
Responsibilities
* Administering and supporting ArcGIS Enterprise platforms, services and applications
* Managing GIS system upgrades, enhancements and performance
* Supporting integration of GIS with TechnologyOne and other corporate systems
* Maintaining spatial databases, geodatabases and data quality standards
* Developing automation and data workflows using FME Form and Flow
* Providing technical advice, documentation, training and user support
* Supporting public and internal web mapping services and applications
* Working collaboratively with Technology Services, Digital Futures and stakeholders
About You
You are a technically capable GIS professional who demonstrates strong problem‐solving skills, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset. You enjoy working with complex systems, supporting users and applying best practice to spatial data and system administration.
* Strong skills in spatial database design and administration (SDE, SQL)
* Experience with GIS automation and data exchange using FME Form and Flow
* Knowledge of server and cloud‐hosted GIS environments
* Strong communication skills and a customer‐focused approach
* Experience developing documentation, workflows and technical standards
* A tertiary qualification in GIS, Geomatics, Computing or a related field
* Minimum three years' experience in enterprise GIS administration
* Experience with 3D modelling and AI use in GIS is desirable.
