About the school
The National School of Arts and Sciences is one of two national schools in the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business. The National School is based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The School of Arts and Sciences delivers a practical, ethical and industry-focused education in diverse areas of study such as the liberal arts, communications and media, counselling and science, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs on offer.
About the role
As a Lecturer in Psychology, you will deliver courses and contribute to research in the discipline. We are seeking an experienced academic who can make a strong contribution to teaching, research, and professional development within the School of Arts & Sciences.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, workshops, and clinical sessions across Psychology programs.
* Develop and coordinate subject material, including preparation of course content and assessment tasks.
* Supervise honours and postgraduate students.
* Conduct research and contribute to the scholarly output of the school, while engaging in relevant professional activities.
* Provide academic support through student consultation, marking, and feedback, and participate in departmental meetings and committees.
* Undertake administrative duties related to teaching and comply with institutional policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* PhD in Psychology (or equivalent accreditation and standing).
* Proven ability to design, coordinate, and deliver high-quality teaching across psychosocial determinants of health, developmental psychology for educators and health practitioners, contemporary family issues, and community mental health, informed by contemporary developments in psychology education.
* APAC accreditation and experience as a registered psychologist (desirable).
* Training in critical psychology or behavioural sciences is highly regarded.
* Demonstrated research track record or potential in psychology, relative to career stage.
* Capacity to supervise student research in Psychology effectively.
