Qualifications
* Qualification in Nursing (Enrolled/or Registered Nursing) current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Return to Work Coordinator Certification.
Experience
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Nurse.
* Clinical skills in a range of Nursing services.
* Technical knowledge & experience in the fields of Injury Management, Claims Management, Rehabilitation, & associated legislation.
* Work independently without direct clinical supervision, & with initiative & also work well in a multi-disciplinary team & with various stakeholders.
* Communication, time Management & organisational skills.
What is the Position Responsible for?
First Aid & Health Centre Management
* First aid services as required & in the event of emergency evacuations that require such actions.
* Complete Incident reporting processes
* First-aid & health centre equipment/supplies available & maintained, ready for use.
* Record health centre visits & treatment required/given, maintain records of medical absenteeism, work-related related records.
* Undertake audiometry tests (pre/post-employment).
* Maintain the Health Centre with a high standard of hygiene.
* Staff absenteeism reporting, to supervisor & HR & ensuring medical certificates are record.
Pre-Employment Assessments
* Pre-employment assessments - candidates' ability to meet the physical requirements of the role. Medical history & audiometric assessments, drug & alcohol screening.
* Record Management - upload pre-employment assessment.
* Coordinate the pre-employment assessment process with multiple stakeholders including Doctors, Physiotherapists, & the on-site management team to reduce the risk of workplace injuries, & match candidate's capacity with inherent role requirements.
Return to Work & Injury Management
* Conducts interview with the injured worker; ensuring the worker has access to & is provided with, early intervention recovery/return to work services.
* Advise injured worker is aware of their rights & responsibilities regarding the recovery/return to work process.
* Obtains authority for information from the worker to consult with health practitioner & other health practitioners.
* Liaises with health practitioner to ascertain the illness/injury & capacity for work.
