About the role
The Safety Advisor will lead the implementation and ongoing oversight of FRV's Safety Management Systems within a designated client portfolio and ensure the safety of all FRV employees, contractors, visitors, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policy.
This is a fixed term role to April 2027.
Functional Accountabilities include:
* Provide contemporary technical safety advice to designated client portfolio and review, research and monitor changes to industry standards and legislation to advise on best practice to ensure continuous safety improvement across the organisation;
* Provide technical and strategic safety advice to clients and lead and facilitate a collaborative approach in the undertaking of safety risk assessments and coordinate stakeholders through incident investigations to ensure root causes and organisational learnings are realised and captured to prevent an incident reoccurring;
* Initiate, develop, drive and continually evaluate strategies, programs and policies to improve the safety of FRV employees, based upon evidence and compliance requirements;
* Analyse data and prepare reports identifying current and emerging safety trends;
* Partner with and develop constructive partnerships with internal stakeholders providing advice and recommendations on Safety matters. Engage with and enhance working relationships with external stakeholders including WorkSafe, Government agencies and unions, to facilitate communication, consultation and cooperation on related Health, Safety and Wellbeing matters.
About you
To be considered for this role you must have:
* A Diploma in Work Health & Safety or higher level qualification is essential;
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessing is highly desirable;
* Lead Investigator Qualification and Lead Auditing Qualification is desirable;
* Membership with a recognised professional safety body is desirable;
* Demonstrated experience in a WHS advisory role, preferably within a large, complex organisational setting with experience in a trade / manufacturing / workshop environment would be highly desirable;
* Demonstrated ability to provide contemporary technical WHS advice based on legislative compliance and best practice;
* Demonstrated experience in developing and reviewing WHS risk assessments, designing and delivering safety programs and mentoring stakeholders;
* A current drivers license

FRV's standard practice is to appoint at the base of the salary range, however consideration will be given to an above base salary within the advertised range based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
