The Role
The IT Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing Aptella's ICT environment across all branches and countries. This role combines strategic leadership and hands‐on technical expertise, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable technology services that support business growth and operational excellence.
Working closely with the Group Executive Manager – Operations, the IT Manager plays a critical role in shaping and delivering Aptella's ICT strategy while leading a high‐performing, customer‐focused IT team.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and delivery of Aptella's ICT strategy
* Align technology initiatives with business objectives, growth plans, and operational needs
* Translate strategy into practical, well‐governed projects, policies, and processes
* Educate leaders and teams on ICT initiatives, systems, and best practice
* Oversee the day‐to‐day operation of Aptella's ICT environment, including infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, applications, and end‐user support
* Ensure ICT services are secure, resilient, and compliant with relevant standards and legislation
* Lead incident management and escalation responses
* Maintain effective backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity arrangements
* Lead, mentor, and develop a multi‐disciplinary IT team
* Set clear expectations and foster accountability and collaboration
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and service excellence
* Partner with leaders across the business to ensure technology supports their teams effectively
* Drive continuous improvement across ICT systems, processes, and documentation
* Oversee deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management of ICT systems and assets
* Manage vendor relationships, licensing, procurement, and service providers
* Ensure accurate and up‐to‐date documentation for critical systems, processes, and procedures
About You
* Proven experience leading IT teams in a complex, multi‐site environment
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels
* Professional, solutions‐focused approach with excellent communication skills
* Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, business‐friendly language
* Strong hands‐on experience supporting Windows client and server environments
* Advanced experience with networking technologies (experience with Palo Alto, Meraki, and Mellanox highly regarded)
* Deep knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Teams, and SharePoint
* Experience with virtualisation, backup, and recovery platforms (e.g. VMware, Veeam)
* Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics and the Power Platform is advantageous
Experience & Mindset
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar IT management role
* Strong understanding of data privacy, cyber security, and governance frameworks
* Proven vendor and contract management experience
* Continuous improvement mindset with a genuine interest in learning and emerging technologies
