**The Role**:

The role exists within the Geomatics team, as part of the wider Petroleum Engineering organization in Shell Australia's QGC asset.
QGC is a leading natural gas producer focused on developing Queensland's world-class gas reserves to provide cleaner energy. We have supplied the domestic market since 2006 and international customers since 2014. Significant future project delivery includes potential for thousands of wells with associated facilities along with ongoing brownfield optimization.
You will lead, coach and mentor Geospatial specialist contractors as part of Geomatics delivery.
**What's the role?**
- Application of Geomatics technical expertise including geospatial data management and Remote Sensing technologies/platforms as part of delivering business solutions. Lead the evaluation, planning and execution of QGC's Remote Sensing initiatives.
- Responsible for sourcing, integrating, and managing geospatial data from a variety of internal and external sources into the QGC GIS.
- Responsible for involvement and leading the delivery of QGC Geomatics and QGC integrated project scopes. Manage requirements and scope definition, schedules and coordinating their own work and that of others (contractors/staff). Coaching and knowledge sharing with others as part of managing their delivery. Provide guidance and connect with the wider Geomatics global community for support where needed.
- Maintain close links with colleagues across project teams, asset teams, Geomatics and strategic technical partnerships for ongoing improvements and management of the integrated GIS.
- Drive and implement new and novel technology, data delivery systems, data integrations and unique services in line with the Geospatial Strategy, with a specific focus on Remote Sensing.
- Represent QGC and the Australian Geomatics Discipline in global forums for Remote Sensing. Lead and participate in global Geomatics Continuous Improvement projects in developing the global Geomatics Discipline and representing the interests of QGC and Australia where needed.
- May manage Geomatics contract(s) and Contract and Procurement responsibilities as Contract Holder, for selected contracts.

**What we need from you**
We are keen to speak to individuals with the following:
- Relevant Tertiary degree, and experience in Geomatics roles and exposure to Geospatial Science or related Geoscience.
- Able to engage and influence business stakeholders to define and implement key Geomatics workflows to meet business requirements.
- Proven record of integrated business/project coordination and delivery.
- Experienced with the ESRI suite of ArcGIS software, Microsoft SQL, and Global Mapper
- Proven ability to self-manage and multitask to ensure successful delivery of QGC workstreams and projects.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and track record of being solution orientated.
- Actively demonstrate HSSE leadership, manage Geomatics HSSE risks and influence decision makers to achieve improved safety outcomes.
