About Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods
Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods is a family-owned Tasmanian business operating for over 10 years. We are heavily involved with industry and have access to some of the freshest and finest seafood in the world. We’re well known for our Tasmanian southern rock lobster dishes and have won multiple awards for our cooked seafood, including the best fish and chips in Australia! Our main Cambridge site is open seven days a week for dine-in and takeaway, and features a large marquee for functions.
We're recently under new ownership with a new menu about to be implemented. We are looking for an experienced and reliable chef to join our team on a permanent part-time basis with weekly hours set at either 25 or 30 per week, depending on the preference of the successful applicant.
Our chosen applicant will:
* Have great communication skills and contribute positively to our friendly work family.
* Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be production-oriented during prep time.
* Have an eye for detail and an ingrained desire for consistency and quality
* Have previous seafood cooking experience
* Ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team
* Have access to reliable transport, noting there are no bus services to our Cambridge venue
* Have Cert III and Cert IV of commercial cookery
Tasks & responsibilities:
* General food prep
* Prepping seafood including fish, lobster, and crumbing seafood.
* Fryer, stove & grill work
* Cleaning across all areas of the kitchen
* Restock fridges and put away deliveries
* Opportunities to work at major events and festivals across Tasmania such as the Taste of Summer, Cygnet Folk Festival, Hobart Wine Festival, and AGFEST.
