About The Role
We're seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter / Shutdown Planner to join our Maintenance team. The position is full‐time, permanent and combines hands‐on mechanical work with strategic shutdown planning in a safety‐focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the overall shutdown plan and schedule following internal procedures.
- Scope jobs and develop work packs.
- Coordinate input from internal and external stakeholders to develop scope lists for shutdowns.
- Organise and manage resourcing for shutdown activities.
- Lead and coordinate shutdown and readiness activities as required.
- Perform reactive maintenance: respond to equipment failures, diagnose faults and resolve issues.
- Replace and overhaul pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers and gearboxes.
- Identify and report defects.
- Undertake preventative maintenance and ensure all repairs meet high standards.
- Support a positive safety culture through hazard identification, risk management and reporting.
Success Criteria & Qualifications
- Mechanical Trade Certificate (essential).
- Minimum 5 years post‐trade experience as a mechanical fitter.
- Prior planning experience.
- Current C‐class driver's licence.
- Proven commitment to safety.
- Team‐oriented mindset, able to work independently when required.
- Flexibility to respond to critical equipment breakdowns.
- Experience with Microsoft Project.
