Technical Sales & Business Development Officer
to help expand our presence in the rail & general engineering sectors. With success that punches above their weight and a strong reputation, they are looking for someone who can combine technical know-how with exceptional communication skills.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for a mid-career professional who wants to grow into a senior role with mentoring and support. You'll work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions, interpret technical drawings, and manage tenders from start to finish. Expect autonomy, variety, and the chance to shape processes and systems as the business continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end tender and quoting process - engage with clients, clarify requirements, prepare competitive quotes, submit proposals, and ensure timely follow-ups
* Drive business growth and client engagement - identify new opportunities, maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, represent the company at meetings and industry events, and contribute to strategic business development initiatives
* Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications for tenders and quotes
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams for seamless project delivery
* Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of deliverables
What We're Looking For
* Experience in the rail or steel manufacturing industry (fabrication & or machining)
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
* Excellent communication skills and ability to think on your feet
* Strong IT literacy and commercial acumen
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
* Willingness to travel interstate
