Lab Operations Manager
At our leading private pathology service provider, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Operations Manager to lead the operations of our Main Pathology Laboratory in South Australia.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality pathology services, driving operational excellence and maintaining full compliance with regulatory requirements.
You will play a crucial role in the development, support and performance of a large multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and quality.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring efficient use of resources
* Monitor quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results, maintaining compliance with accreditation standards
* Supervise all scientific, administrative, technical and ancillary functions
* Provide scientific and technical expertise in performing and overseeing diagnostic procedures
* Identify opportunities for process improvement, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and quality
* Ensure the laboratory is compliant with National Standards including NPAAC and NATA requirements
* Drive both clinical and non-clinical continuous improvement initiatives
* Lead and Manage a team of Laboratory Supervisors and Managers to drive high performance
* Conduct performance reviews and support professional development with training initiatives
* Encourage a culture of teamwork, collaboration, innovation
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* A strong background in science with strong people and commercial acumen, and a proven capability in leading high-performing teams
* Tertiary qualification in Science, Applied Science, Laboratory Medicine or equivalent that fulfils NPAAC criteria
* Proven leadership experience in a large organisation, preferably in the pathology sector
* Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) and time management skills
* Ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
