Job Description
Tilleys devine cafe gallery Key Responsibilities ? Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient and high-quality food service ? Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including training, mentoring and performance oversight ?
Prepare, cook and present dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards ? Manage multiple kitchen sections during service, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of meals ? Monitor and enforce food safety, hygiene and WHS compliance across all kitchen operations ?
Plan and assist in menu development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and cost-effective practices ? Control stock levels, including ordering, rotation and minimising wastage ? Allocate tasks to kitchen staff and ensure productivity during high-volume service periods ?
Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs or maintenance as required ? Work collaboratively with management and front-of-house staff to ensure consistent customer satisfaction Skills and Experience ? Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment ?
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to supervise staff effectively ? Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations ? Ability to manage high-pressure service periods while maintaining food quality and consistency ?
Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations ? Excellent communication and organisational skills ? Relevant culinary qualification or equivalent industry experience
