About the office/school The Information Technology Office is at the forefront of the University’s success, driving cutting-edge technology solutions that empower Learning & Teaching, Research, and Administration across the institution. About the role This position will be responsible for the effective end-to-end management of technology projects (Network and AV) within the University including but not limited to Learning & Teaching AV, Facilities AV, Cybersecurity, Infra, EUC & Networking initiatives. Key Responsibilitie s Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives, to ensure alignment of network and AV project outcomes with the University's strategic and digital transformation goals. Collaborate with IT, Facilities, Learning Spaces, and academic stakeholders to prioritise and deliver initiatives that enhance the University's digital infrastructure, with a focus on high-performance networking and cutting-edge AV solutions. Oversee a complex portfolio of technology programs and projects, including campus-wide network upgrades, AV system rollouts, unified communications, and hybrid learning environments. Lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise-scale network and AV projects, applying appropriate methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, PMBOK), and ensuring integration with existing infrastructure and services. Develop and maintain project schedules, manage budgets, and ensure the timely delivery of key milestones. Provide strategic and operational reporting to governance forums and executive stakeholders, clearly articulating progress, risks, and impacts to scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Manage project budgets and financial governance for large-scale infrastructure and technology investments, including procurement and lifecycle planning for network and AV assets. Act as a senior escalation point for project risks and issues, particularly those related to network performance, AV system integration, and vendor delivery. Lead vendor and partner engagement, including network service providers, AV integrators, and hardware/software suppliers, ensuring delivery excellence and alignment with technical standards. Ensure technical alignment and compliance with university standards for network architecture (e.g., LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi 6/6E, SD-WAN, firewalls) and AV systems (e.g., lecture capture, digital signage, video conferencing, Crestron/Extron/Zoom/Teams platforms) Qualifications, skills & experience A relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant experience, or Extensive management experience and proven management expertise, or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training that may include demonstrated experience in End-to-end project delivery using methodologies like Agile, PRINCE2, or PMBOK, a strong understanding of enterprise network architecture (LAN/ WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS), and experience in delivering AV systems. Demonstrated experience in IT project management within medium to large scale organisations including the delivery of large-scale programs of work and enterprise-level projects. Oversee risk and issue management, vendor and contract management (AV integrators and network providers), and governance reporting to executive and C-suite stakeholders. Expertise in Wi-Fi technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi 6/6E), network segmentation, and QoS, network security, (firewalls, NAC, VPNs, IDS/IPS, cloud networking, and hybrid infrastructure (AWS networking) and enterprise architecture (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS). Coordinate AV integration with building infrastructure and IT systems, including video conferencing and AV-over-IP technologies (digital signage, and lecture capture technologies) Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
