1.0 fte, full time ongoing position

Salary: $84,951.00 p.a. plus superannuation

Location: Dandenong, Cranbourne, Frankston, Berwick, Mornington Peninsula

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Library and Learning Centres are positioned as the hub of campus life, providing a reliable, relevant and welcoming service point to receive learning support, study, engage with services or socially connect.

The Senior Library and Learning Services Officer is responsible for the coordination and delivery of seamless frontline services, which enrich the student experience and support students to achieve their study goals. The role leads the Library and Learning Services team, ensuring the library’s frontline service operates efficiently and effectively. The role will coordinate day-to-day operations across multiple campuses and via numerous service channels.

Your key responsibilities include:

- Provide dynamic leadership and direction to frontline library staff to ensure that service delivery is efficient, effective and customer focused.
- Recruit and assist in the selection of Frontline staff, coordinating appropriate development activities to ensure that staff have the necessary qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to fulfil their functional responsibilities.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Learner Support Services staff across multiple campuses and service channels.
- Ensure daily and weekly rosters are up to date to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Coordinate orientations of services available to the Chisholm community and assist in the organisation and running of vendor presentations and events within library spaces.
- Undertake regular desk duties and visits to campus libraries within the portfolio.
- Ensure customer enquiries and needs are responded to in line with Chisholm policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support to students and learners in an increasingly digital learning environment.
- Promote opportunities for students to engage across all campuses and develop and distribute library promotional material.
- Provide recommendations to the Library Team Leader and Head of Student Support & Engagement regarding opportunities for system or process improvements.
- Provide Tier 1 support to Library users creating a positive student experience.
- Maintain a respectful, secure environment free from violence, aggression, bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination.

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated individual with:

- Well-developed leadership and team management skills;
- Experience working in digital library environments;
- Demonstrable current experience and knowledge of library procedures and practices;
- A strong (Intermediate) level of competency using MS Office (Word, Excel, email).
- Demonstrated experience in assisting others by troubleshooting and applying proactive problem-solving skills;
- Highly developed oral communication skills, as well as highly developed interpersonal and customer relation skills;
- Current experience in providing customer service support in a complex and demanding educational environment;
- Ability to work collaboratively and adopt a team-work approach;

Qualifications

- A relevant qualification at a minimum of Diploma level or a combination of lesser qualification and significant library experience
