Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and working within a respected and collaborative legal team, you will be instrumental in driving the organisation's compliance, governance and risk posture while enabling strategic and operational goals.This role is ideal for a commercially minded lawyer with broad in-house financial services experience, ready to navigate enterprise-wide legal issues—from mergers and employment law to IP/IT procurement and company secretarial matters.Key Responsibilities:Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice across banking, corporate, and financial services mattersLead contract negotiation and management, including SLAs, supplier arrangements, finance agreements and corporate initiativesNavigate a complex regulatory landscape and ensure compliance with the Corporations Act, Banking Act and relevant ASIC/APRA regimesSupport board and governance functions, including advice on director duties, conflicts of interest and statutory reportingCollaborate with business units on risk management and dispute resolution strategiesFoster strong stakeholder engagement across senior leadership, regulators and external counselRequirements & Experience:Admitted solicitor in NSW with at least 7–10 years' post-qualification experience in financial services, banking or corporate lawExpertise in consumer and retail banking law, with an ability to manage a broad portfolio of legal issues (including employment, IP/IT procurement and governance)Strong knowledge of financial services laws and regulations, including ASIC and APRA frameworksProven stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at executive and board levelA collaborative, pragmatic and commercially minded approach to legal problem-solvingFamiliarity with customer-owned institutions will be well regardedGreenfields is a specialist In-House Legal, Company Secretary and Corporate Governance Executive Search & Recruitment firm.
