Administration Officer – Older Person Mental Health (OPMH)
About The Role
The role of the Administration Officer – OPMH works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure the provision of high-level administrative support to the OPMH services
This role is offered on a 12 months fixed term contract and is located at Greenwich Hospital, however, the successful applicant will be temporarily relocated to Macquarie Hospital site in North Ryde during the Greenwich Hospital redevelopment from March 2026
HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation all NSW Health transferrable entitlements will be recognised.
Key Focus Areas
* Face to face contact for patients, visitors and staff and being a key person for enquiries
* Providing administrative support for admissions, transfers and discharges of patients.
* Maintain accurate medical records, including proficient use of eMR
* Work collaboratively with other Administration Officers
* Manage and support phone enquiries from internal and external callers
* Enter medical billing and case conference billing into billing systems
* Process and submit revenue paperwork for private patients, overseas and compensable
* Prepare and submit Mental Health Review Tribunal documents and support room set up (if required)
* Process transport booking via internal and external systems
About You

* Demonstrated ability to provide high level administrative and organisational support in a health environment, with a high level of attention to detail.
* Demonstrated problem solving, prioritisation and communication skills.
* Comprehensive experience in working in a flexible, multi-skilled team environment, where high level interpersonal, communication and customer service skills are key factors to effective operation.
* Ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviours of patients
* Capable of working autonomously and effectively following directions.
* Application skills in Health Information Systems
* Understanding Medical Terminology (desirable).
