The Rural Locum Assistance Program (Rural LAP), a subsidiary of the multi-award-winning, Australian-owned healthcare provider, Aspen Medical, plays a key role in supporting the Australian Government's rural workforce capacity agenda by delivering essential healthcare services to rural and remote regions.
We are seeking experienced and credentialed Registered Midwives to support maternity services in rural and remote communities across Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality care to families in underserved areas, while enjoying the flexibility of short-term contract placements.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Deliver evidence-based midwifery care across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal periods
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and culturally appropriate services
* Provide responsive, compassionate, and person-centred care in a variety of rural and remote settings
* Promoting and maintaining a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment
* Adapting to a variety of clinical settings, often with limited resources, in rural and remote communities.
Essential criteria:
* Current and unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Midwife
* A minimum of 3 years of full-time midwifery experience
* A minimum of 250 hours of relevant clinical midwifery practice within the past 12 months
* Evidence of current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) training with a practical component
* Currency in CTG training in accordance with Royal Australian New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) guidelines.
