Job Description:
Secondary Learning Support Teacher
We are seeking a Secondary Learning Support Teacher to join our Student Learning Support team at Belmont Christian College.
The successful applicant will play a crucial role in collaborating with the Learning Support team, secondary teachers, students, and parents to create an inclusive environment that enhances individualised student learning, engagement, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with secondary school teachers to provide individualised interventions for students under the guidance of Head of Student Learning and Support.
* Guide teachers and support them in developing curriculum for learning interventions.
* Provide advice to secondary school teachers on managing student behaviour and supporting students with disabilities or special needs.
* Assist in record-keeping and documentation related to student learning progress and outcomes.

Christian Leadership:

* Exercise Christian servant leadership with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
Student Learning Support:
* Act as the Secondary teacher liaison under the guidance of Head of Student Learning and Support.
* Support students in developing literacy and numeracy skills through targeted interventions.
* Implement case management, tracking progress with parents, Learning Support, and medical staff.
* Use data-driven strategies to provide targeted student interventions.
Classroom and Curriculum Guidance:
* Guide teachers in planning and implementing learning interventions and activities.
* Manage and organise individualised resources and materials.
Student Wellbeing and Engagement:
* Ensure emotional and social support is provided to students to promote positive learning experiences.
* Provide advice to secondary school teachers on managing student behaviour of students with disability.
Collaboration and Communication:
* Work collaboratively with secondary teachers, learning support team, school leadership, and other corresponding teams to enhance student outcomes.
* Maintain open and respectful communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
Administrative and Other Duties:
* Guide secondary teachers and assist in record-keeping and documentation related to student learning progress and outcomes.
* Contribute to moderation of NCCD activities on data collection.
* Ensure compliance with school policies and child safety regulations.
