About the Role
Whitsunday Anglican School is seeking a capable and motivated Facilities Team Member (Grounds and Maintenance) to join our experienced and dedicated Facilities Team.
This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining the School’s grounds, gardens, and outdoor spaces to a consistently high standard, ensuring the campus remains a welcoming and well-presented environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Accountabilities
* Ensure the upkeep and physical integrity of school grounds and facilities through regular maintenance of lawns, ovals, gardens, external areas and general repairs
* Undertake cleaning tasks and manage waste disposal for both outdoor and selected indoor areas to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the school campus
* Blowing debris, conducting inspections, and preparing playgrounds to ensure they are safe for use
* Assist with the repair and maintenance across School buildings and facilities, including handling pick-ups and deliveries
* Assist in the preparation of Special Events as required
* Respond to maintenance job requests, ensuring clear communication upon task completion
* Use maintenance software to log, manage, and complete job tasks
* Be accountable for adhering to scheduled routines and calendared events
* Assist in loading and unloading of equipment, and the delivery of these items in a timely manner
Candidate Profile:
* A trade, construction, horticulture, or landscaping qualification, or relevant experience in grounds maintenance, is desirable.
* Ability to work independently, in an organised and proactive manner
* A current Blue Card is essential at the time of commencement.
* Demonstrated high-level organisation and problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated use of initiative, with the ability to anticipate the needs of the workplace
* Strong focus on workplace, health and safety in all actions undertaken
* A can-do attitude that is proactive in the best interests of the School
* First Aid and CPR Certificate essential or willing to obtain
* Current open 'C\" class drivers licence is required
