About the role
As a Lead Civil Engineer within our Power Generation team, you will be a vital part of the broader Energy team that is transforming how we design and deliver major works to be carbon‐neutral and sustainable. Your focus will be on substation projects, helping to design and deliver high‐quality solutions for our clients and ensuring safety, reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to undertake concept and detailed design of large‐scale HV infrastructure, including substations, BESS, solar and wind projects.
* Design earthworks, roads, drainage, foundations, layouts and related infrastructure.
* Develop and review detailed civil engineering designs, reports, technical specifications and relevant documentation.
* Review and interrogate civil design models (e.g., Civil3D/12D).
* Conduct feasibility studies, risk analyses and site assessments.
* Participate in engineering, design and construction review processes and provide technical expertise and guidance as required.
* Apply a sound understanding of relevant industry/client standards, guidelines and regulations.
* Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and project teams.
* Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure project success.
* Assist the advancement of digital engineering and innovation skills within the team, offering opportunities to enhance digital efficiencies.
Qualifications
* Minimum Australian‐recognised Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
* Professional registrations such as CPEng, NER or RPEQ (or equivalent) are desirable.
* Proven design experience within the energy (power utility) sector – minimum 8years – focusing on bulk earthworks, roads and drainage.
* Previous experience with substation, transmission and distribution projects, particularly within NSW, is highly favourable.
* Strong understanding of civil modelling and design software, e.g., Civil3D/12D.
* Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly within a team environment, collaborating effectively with cross‐discipline teams to achieve project goals.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to collaborate and develop team capabilities.
