**Classification**:ANU Officer Grade 6/7 (Administration)
**Salary package**:$84,018 - $96,713 pa plus 17% superannuation

**Terms**: Fixed Term (4 months), Part/Full time

**The Position**

Provides administrative assistance to the synbio initiative within RSB. This is a current position and the focus will be on setting up processes to ensure the smooth running of synbio. The role involves using IT systems for general administration, HR and Finance. The role works closely with the head of synbio; researchers; administration staff in other sections of RSB and the College of Science; and students. The role also provides advice on policies and procedures.

**The Person**

The role will suit someone with excellent administration skills with a focus on process development and implementation. Initiative and a focus on solutions is required plus the ability to work with colleagues at all levels to meet timeframes. The role suits someone returning from extended leave for example parental leave.

**The School**

The ANU SynBio Initiative (ANU SBI) aims to strengthen SynBio research at ANU by bringing together new group across the diverse areas of research that contribute to SynBio (humanities, engineering, biology, physics, medicine, chemistry) to create a research network that breaks down these traditional boundaries. Concurrently, it aims to increase the profile of ANU in this research area and to build greater links to industry, government and collaborating institutions in Australia and internationally.

**The College**

The ANU College of Science encompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environment and Society, Mathematics, Physics, and Science Communication and is also home to a number of cross-disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science conduct research and deliver a research-led education program that encompasses the breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities.
