ABOUT THE ROLE
We're seeking a driven and relationship-focused Trade Development Manager to join our Retail team, based in our flagship showroom. In this role you'll be responsible for growing MCM HOUSE's trade revenue by building and managing a portfolio of top-tier interior designers, architects and stylists — delivering an exceptional client experience from initial engagement through to project completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Trade Account Management
* Build, develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with trade clients including interior designers, architects and stylists purchasing MCM HOUSE products
* Manage and grow a portfolio of top-tier trade accounts, ensuring high engagement and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle – quoting, closing, post sales.
* Maintain consistent, strategic communication with trade accounts on a weekly basis – inviting clients into the showroom for private appointments, visiting trade clients at their office/studio, leading hosting activation events in the showroom to create trade activity and community.
Sales Growth & Business Development
* This is sale's driven role with a focus on building deep longterm trade relationships for MCM HOUSE retail division
* Achieve or exceed personal sales targets, KPIs and revenue goals through new business acquisition and expansion of existing trade accounts
* Identify and pursue new trade opportunities across residential markets; develop strategic plans to grow the trade division and increase market share for the retail division
Strategic Planning & Brand Engagement
* Contribute to the strategic development of the MCM HOUSE trade program, identifying key market segments and emerging opportunities
* Represent MCM HOUSE as brand ambassador within the design and architecture community through networking, events and industry engagement
* Host and coordinate trade-focused events including product launches, showroom previews and networking functions
Product Expertise & Client Solutions
* Provide expert advice on furniture collections, materials and finishes, communicating new collections in a timely manner
* Recommend tailored product solutions that meet the design, functional and budget requirements of trade clients
* Prepare and deliver professional presentations, proposals and project-based quotes tailored to client requirements
* Administration of qualifying, approving and setting trade accounts in MCM HOUSE system
* Administration
* Quote follow up – Calling, emailing, visiting clients
* Order management – Keeping trade clients up to date on their trade orders
* Creating MCM HOUSE sample boxes
* Prepare and present monthly sales reports, forecasts and account performance updates
ABOUT YOU
* Proven experience in trade sales, account management or business development, ideally within furniture, interiors or design
* Established network within the interior design, architecture or property development community is highly desirable
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities
* Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills with confident presentation ability
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously
