Disability Support Worker (Casual) - Melbourne Inner North & West & Outer East
My People Solutions Recruitment are currently seeking to fill a number of Casual Disability Support Worker (Standard Level & High Intensity Level) vacancies across Melbourne with shifts available in Inner North, Inner West & Outer East Melbourne locations.
We are seeking applicants who have relevant qualifications and at least 2+ years of standard level disability support worker experience, experience of working with people with autism and experience of working with adults and children with high intensity support needs and/or behaviours of concern, who enjoy working as part of a team and who are committed to delivering quality care.
With a variety of days, times and shift lengths available (no active night shift vacancies are currently available), applicants must be flexible and willing to work in SDA/SIL houses as well as travel to more than one client/'s home each day, making a current driving licence and car essential.
Essential checks & certifications: NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check, First Aid/CPR, Working with Children Check, Car & Car Licence. Some roles also require a current medication administration and/or manual handling certificate as well as attendance at regular training sessions.
Significant: Applicants will be considered only if they have a minimum of 2+ years/' experience working as a disability support worker and all documents are current and up to date. Applicants with experience working with clients with autism, ABI, intellectual disabilities, high physical support needs and behaviours of concern will be highly regarded.
Note: All roles include some level of personal care and assistance as part of the disability support worker/'s role.
Responsibilities 
- Be flexible for shifts on days, times and locations and have experience of working both in home and in SIL & SDA houses.
- Travel to multiple clients/' homes in one day and maintain safety and quality of care.
- Undertake online and in-person knowledge and skills development ongoing as part of the role.
- Deliver quality care in line with client plans and requirements.
Minimum Requirements 
- At least 2+ years/' experience as a disability support worker.
- Experience with Autism/ADHD, Mental Health, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Intellectual Disabilities, ABI/Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Dementia & Medication Certification; advanced manual handling skills; behaviours of concern; restrictive practices considered highly regarded.
- Willingness to be flexible for shifts on days, times and locations; experience working both in home and in SIL & SDA houses.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Vaccinations (including COVID), CPR & First Aid, right to work in Australia, 100 Points of ID, Driving Licence and access to a reliable car are essential.
- Cert III Individual Supports, Cert IV Disability and/or Mental Health Care Qualification, or equivalent or higher preferred.
- Current medication administration certification and/or manual handling certification required for some roles.
- Full driving licence and ability to travel to multiple clients in one day.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, reliability and a good sense of humour.
You will be required to undertake online and in-person knowledge and skills development as part of your role.
