Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment in compliance with OHS standards. The role includes performing sample preparation and analysis, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate reporting to support cost-effective production. Key responsibilities will include: Conduct pre-start checks and operate lab equipment including Jaw Crusher, Pulverisers, Sieve Shaker, Bottle Roller, Drying Ovens, and Dust Extractor. Perform and record preventive maintenance (PM) checks. Operate Fire Assay equipment (fusion and cupellation furnaces, flux tumbler, weigh station). Safely store and handle reagents per Dangerous Goods regulations. Operate the fume cupboard, AAS, and associated instruments following procedures. Monitor equipment performance and report issues promptly. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports to support production tracking. Adhere to and promote safe work practices in line with statutory and company standards. About the Operation Catalyst Metals Limited (ASX: CYL) owns and operates the Plutonic Gold Mine, located in the Eastern Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The mine produces approximately 85,000 ounces of gold annually. Catalyst also holds the Four Eagles Gold Project near Bendigo, Victoria. Requirements The ideal candidate will have: Experience in a similar role. Basic Secondary Education (Year 10). Cert IV in Lab Techniques (desirable). Current LF high risk license Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers License. Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft Office. Experience in gold processing plant operation Good communication skills, written and verbal.
