Collections Excellence is uplifting CommBank's Collections business to be simpler for our people and better for customers, by consolidating aged technology onto a single strategic platform and modernising processes, controls, and data.
The program is re‐platforming Collections onto Experian PowerCurve Collections (PCC) across CBA and Bankwest products, reducing swivel‐chair activities, improving compliance, and enabling more personalised, outcomes‐based strategies for customers experiencing financial stress.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this team is part of the Collections Excellence crew, which focuses on building and enhancing a strategic Group platform for Collections.
Here, you'll create, manage and optimise the platforms used to power our Collections business. You'll have the opportunity to take responsibility for continuous improvement, ensuring our systems are simpler, faster and more secure.
Responsibilities
* Conduct analysis of various supporting systems and applications and provide recommendations for design, enhancement and development opportunities, and play an active part in their execution.
* Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure.
* Adhere to SDLC and DevOps processes in the distribution of Collections related software builds and releases to development and test environments, as well as supporting releases into production.
* Collaborate with product teams, partner with internal and third‐party engineers to co‐design and operate platforms that improve delivery velocity, quality, and safety.
* Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Engage with various project teams, other internal crews and external suppliers.
* Mentor engineers within the team, providing design and technical guidance.
* Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency.
* Provide operational support, participate in on‐call rotations and incident response workflows to ensure availability of critical services.
* Continuously monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
Qualifications
* Experience: 7+ years of industry experience.
* Operating Systems: Windows (must have) and Linux (good to have).
* Monitoring and Alert Tools: Observe, Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics, Pager Duty.
* Scripting Languages: Python, Bash, Go, Ansible.
* CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Artifactory).
* Automation: Playwright, JMeter, K6.
* Programming skills: C#, TypeScript desirable.
* Cloud Platforms: AWS (AWS certified preferred).
* Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, Load Balancing, VPN, TLS.
* Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes/EKS.
* Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation.
* Stakeholder Management – Internal & External.
