About this role
We are seeking a dedicated Family Contact Worker to supervise and support safe family contact for children in care.
Key responsibilities include:
* Transporting and supervising family contact visits autonomously, ensuring the highest level of safety and well-being for all parties involved.
* Writing clear, detailed reports soon after each visit, highlighting key successes and areas for improvement.
* Supporting care plans with case managers, collaborating to develop effective strategies for reunification and reintegration.
* Identifying and reporting child protection concerns, taking proactive steps to prevent harm and promote a safe environment.
* Managing visits when not in the child's best interest, prioritizing their needs and well-being above all else.
Requirements:
* Diploma in Community Services or a related field is preferred but not required; however, relevant experience and training will be highly regarded.
* A valid driver's license, Working with Children Check (WWCC), first aid certification, and NDIS clearance are essential requirements for this role.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills are vital for building trust and rapport with families and other stakeholders.
* Able to manage conflict and work with diverse families, adapting to unique situations and challenging behaviors.
* Understanding of child safety and car restraint laws is crucial for ensuring the well-being of children during transportation and visitation.
* Availability for a range of shifts, including weekends and evenings, is necessary to accommodate the needs of our clients.
