About the Opportunity
The Senior Corporate Counsel & Deputy Company Secretary role provides legal expertise to drive commercial decision making and provides key support to the Chief Strategy, Development and Legal Officer.
Key Responsibilities
* Support delivery of business outcomes in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Provide advice and input on regulatory, legal and policy matters.
* Manage the development and implementation of legal and commercial frameworks for major procurements.
* Support strategic project delivery and manage contractual arrangements through legal and commercial advice and project management support.
* Support management of litigation and major claims.
* Perform Company Secretary responsibilities.
* Ensure governance, compliance, and ASIC reporting excellence.
* Maintain statutory registers and corporate records and ensure timely regulatory filings.
* Drive process improvements in governance and documentation.
* Coordinate Board and committee meetings including preparing agendas and Board and committee papers.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Solicitor admitted in Australia with a minimum of 7 years of legal experience in commercial law.
* Superior written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong commercial negotiating and drafting skills.
* Strategic mindset with big‑picture understanding of key business issues.
* Proven history of developing and managing productive relationships with stakeholders.
* Knowledge of shipping, container logistics and the broader supply chain industry beneficial.
* Tertiary qualification in law and potentially commerce or business management.
