Role Responsibilities
* Undertake research, analysis and evaluation of policies and issues affecting the Territory and formulate quality strategic advice from economic, regulatory and commercial perspectives.
* Prepare a range of high‐level documentation including ministerial and government briefings, policy advice, reports and discussion papers.
* Foster effective relationships across government, including representing Treasury on interdepartmental forums and intergovernmental committees.
Qualifications
* Well‐developed knowledge of contemporary economic and/or commercial policy frameworks and processes.
* Demonstrated ability to apply research and analytical skills to provide sound advice on regulatory, economic, or commercial policies, strategies, proposals, and issues.
* Ability to develop and implement economic and/or commercial strategies and policy, think strategically, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
* Highly‐developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical work to a general audience.
* Ability to work as part of a high‐performing team, manage competing deadlines and contribute to the guidance and development of less experienced staff.
* Ability to develop and maintain courteous professional relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
This role is not suited to candidates with a purely accounting or finance background without experience in policy, strategy or advisory functions.
