Job Title: Reservations Agent
As Reservations Agent, you’ll be responsible for reservations activities such as recording and processing inquiries made by phone, fax, or email, and converting them to sales to meet hotel targets. You’ll collaborate with departments like Front Office and Business Support to ensure a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Promote and sell hotel products and services, using up-selling and suggestive selling techniques to maximize revenue.
2. Maintain high knowledge of all IHG hotels in your region.
3. Develop rapport with guests, clients, and booking agents.
4. Coordinate with other departments to promote teamwork and service quality.
5. Understand departmental standards, policies, procedures, and special rates/offers/promotions.
6. Manage inventory to sell appropriate room types for optimal revenue.
7. Book reservations, process cancellations, revisions, and updates.
8. Ensure reservation accuracy and data integrity for reporting purposes.
9. Manage group room blocks and related requirements.
10. Utilize Delphi.fdc system for group management and attend relevant meetings.
11. Adhere to Reservations procedures and hotel credit policies.
12. Comply with corporate responsibility, data privacy, and trade practices.
13. Follow WH&S policies, reporting hazards or incidents.
14. Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Minimum 6-12 months experience in Front Office, Reservations, or Customer Service; hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential.
* Energetic and passionate with a positive attitude.
* Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency with Opera or similar PMS systems is preferred.
* Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
