Overview
A high-end Italian restaurant is seeking an experienced Front of House Manager.
Responsibilities
* Service delivery: Table arrangement and function monitoring; confirm bookings by calling guests (or arrange someone to do it); close shop during the shift, ensure air-con and lights are off, and doors are properly locked before closing.
* Willing to work on various shifts, especially Fridays to Sundays (work at least 5 days a week).
HR management
* Hiring and training staff: Including arranging online advertisement, resume screening, interviewing, trialing new staff, and determining wage rates.
* Monitoring performance of staff: Monitor performance and appoint talented staff to take on more responsibilities according to operation needs, such as liquor purchase, social media promotion (photography and content creation).
* Rostering: Collaborates with office manager and bookkeeper to arrange rosters according to staff availability and rates to minimise labour costs.
Coordination and liaison
* Liaising and coordinating for premises maintenance: Communicate with property manager, landlord or other service providers for repairs and maintenance; arrange necessary actions (e.g., lock damage, internet, phone lines).
* Handle complaints: Address guests' complaints and coordinate with social media outsourcer regarding Google reviews and negative feedback.
* Monitor social media and website updates: Coordinate with outsourcer for web page maintenance, social media updates, Google review feedback and maintenance, content uploads for special events and regular updates.
* Equipment management: Arrange contact with equipment provider; request and obtain quotes; arrange repairs as needed; ensure no equipment or devices are missing.
* Email reply: Monitor the office to reply to emails, handle inquiries for large functions, and make necessary arrangements.
* Be the corresponding person: Serve as contact for government agencies and landlord.
Experience in a similar role is essential.
