Financial Accountant Brisbane South-West | Permanent Full-Time
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established and growing business with international operations and a supportive finance team of seven based in the Brisbane office. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in their month-end and audit capabilities and is keen to contribute to both business-as-usual finance and post-acquisition integration activity.
You'll be working in a head office environment (with global links), and while there are set procedures, the local team operates with a great deal of autonomy. If you have a solid technical base and a willingness to learn, there's room to grow and be supported here.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly financial and management reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
* Prepare and lodge timely statutory returns (BAS, PAYG, FBT, etc).
* Deliver quarterly board reports.
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
* Assist with year-end statutory accounts and external audit coordination.
* Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations.
* Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal policies.
* Manage and maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
* Assist with accounts payable functions, including processing and reconciliations.
* Handle stock control and reconciliations.
* Monitor and improve internal controls; participate in process reviews.
* Lead Singapore compliance audits and prepare relevant tax & GST documentation.
* Liaise with global head office to ensure group alignment.
What We're Looking For
* Strong experience in month-end reporting and audit preparation (particularly external audits).
* Exposure to consolidation and integration processes is a plus - the business has recently acquired another company.
* Comfortable working in a structured head office environment, with overseas leadership.
* Able to navigate procedures while taking ownership at a local level.
What You'll Bring
* Degree in Accounting or Finance.
* CPA or CA qualification (or currently completing).
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of statutory reporting and compliance.
* Proficient in Excel and accounting systems.
* High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
* Eagerness to learn and contribute - even if you don't tick every box, training will be provided for the right person.
