A position has become available with Ocean Rafting, a multi-award-winning, family-owned marine tourism operator based in the Whitsundays.
We are seeking an experienced Vessel Maintenance Technician to join our elite marine operations team on a full-time basis (40 hours per week). This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong outboard engine experience who thrives in a fast-paced marine environment.

Operating since 1997, Ocean Rafting is a leader in adventure and eco-tourism, accessing the wild side of the Whitsunday Islands. With special permits for protected areas within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and Whitehaven Beach / Hill Inlet, our vessels deliver unique, high-performance marine experiences every day.
Our fleet operates daily from Coral Sea Marina – North Village, visiting iconic destinations such as Hill Inlet, Hook Island and Border Island.

The Role
You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and reliability of our marine fleet and support vehicles, ensuring the highest safety and operational standards.
Fleet Includes
* 12 RHIBs (RIBs) with outboard engines
* Jet boat
* Fishing vessel
* Support vehicles

Key Responsibilities
* Service work, preventative maintenance, and overhauls of vessels and vehicles
* Maintenance and fault-finding on outboard engines
* Ensure vessels meet safety and compliance standards
* Daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks and logs
* General vessel upkeep including cleaning, refuelling, and equipment care
* Liaising with operations, office, and management teams
* Weekend work and call-outs as required

Essential Requirements
* Proven trade or industry experience working on outboard engines
* Strong mechanical aptitude (diesel & unleaded engines)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Open manual driver's licence
* Availability for weekend work and call-outs

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* MED 3 (or equivalent outboard engineering qualification)
* Basic trades or building experience
* Understanding of marine operations and weather conditions
* Experience working in a commercial marine or tourism environment
