About the roleThis opportunity presents a demanding yet deeply fulfilling prospect for you to make a positive change in the lives of people with disability. We are currently recruiting for our Lifestyle and Supported Independent Living (SIL) programs.SIL is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.Lifestyle supports are one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required.Key ResponsibilitiesGet involved in feel-good activities at home and out in the community – like cooking, gardening, and soaking up the sunCreate a calm and supportive space with the ability to utilise de-escalation techniquesImplement person-centred active support and behaviour support plansSupport clients to make everyday spaces shine through domestic assistanceProvide support with personal care, including bathing and dressingAbility to work sleepover shifts (SIL only)Skills & ExperienceA bright, upbeat person who delivers support with a smile, dance moves, and a joyful attitudePassion for empowering people with disability – supporting their unique needs, strengths, and personal goalsExperience working with complex disability support needs including non-verbal, escalations and behaviours of concernValid First Aid and CPR Certificates as per NDIS requirementsSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS and Working with Children Checks.BenefitsCompetitive pay above industry standards SCHADS Level 2 Pay Point 2 $43.08 (casual) per hourParticipate in community activities, events, and even impromptu BBQs, all while supporting people with disabilities to thrive in their homes and communitiesAs an essential worker, benefit from a Welcome Bag and extra resources through the ‘Welcome Experience’ program, supporting new arrivals to Far West NSWAbout theOrganisationLife Without Barriers is a leading social purpose, not for profit organisation of 8,000 employees working in more than 500 communities across Australia.
