Overview
Join to apply for the Project Archaeologist - Casual role at Jacobs. We are looking for archaeologists with a passion for finding heritage-positive solutions. With a robust pipeline of work across Australia, and particularly in Victoria, we are seeking Project Archaeologists to join our team in Melbourne/regional Victoria in casual roles.
Our Jacobs Cultural Heritage team comprises heritage specialists Australia-wide with experience in Aboriginal archaeology, historical archaeology, maritime archaeology, underwater archaeology, interpretation, and built heritage and architecture. We work on projects from large-scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure developments to smaller heritage-specific projects. We provide heritage advice across many stages in a project lifecycle – from business case inputs and early design phase considerations, to assessments for heritage approvals and construction phase support.
For our casual roles, we are looking for individuals who love fieldwork, are Victorian Registered Heritage Advisors with First People – State Relations, with appropriate experience to supervise archaeological excavations, and are confident in leading teams. Projects include both those commutable from most Melbourne locations, and away work (accommodation and meals provided for the latter). You will have well-developed Aboriginal heritage identification skills; be competent with field-based survey methodology; and be able to independently undertake field-based excavations.
