About This Opportunity
The University of Queensland is seeking a UX Designer to support business-as-usual UX design activities within the Marketing and Communication team.
This role is a fixed-term backfill, supporting continuity of UX delivery while the current designer is seconded to an internal project. The role supports core UX activities across UQ's digital platforms, ensuring user-centred design remains embedded in day-to-day delivery.
Working closely with digital specialists and internal stakeholders, you will contribute to improving usability, accessibility, and consistency across UQ's websites and digital experiences.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Design user journeys, flows, wireframes, and prototypes for digital initiatives
* Support or conduct user research and usability testing
* Collaborate with UI designers, content designers, and developers
* Translate business needs into clear, user-focused design solutions
* Apply UX best practice across business-as-usual digital work

About You
You are a practical and confident UX designer who enjoys working in a delivery-focused environment.
You will bring:
* Demonstrated UX design experience with a portfolio showing end-to-end UX work
* Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders and digital teams
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Miro, User Testing, or similar
* Experience in UI design is desirable but not essential.
