 
        
        Job Title: Child and Family Counsellor
We are expanding our support to children and young people through a new specialist counselling model that recognises children as victims in their own right and provides them with longer-term, trauma-informed care.
The successful candidate will provide individual therapy, family therapy and group-based support to children and young people. They'll also engage with parents to help strengthen the parent-child relationship and reduce chronic stress and trauma symptoms children experience post-separation.
The role involves delivering long-term trauma-informed therapy for children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence (DFV).
About the Role
The counsellor will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and facilitate therapeutic group programs for children, young people, and parents.
 * Client-facing work per day, with time dedicated to supervision, documentation, and training.
 * Contribute to the rollout of modality-specific interventions, including trauma-focused cognitive-behavioural therapy.
The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling or related field and experience working therapeutically with children, young people (0–18), and/or parents.
 * Eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body.
 * Experience delivering long-term counselling or group therapy.
 * Knowledge of and experience working in the context of DFV and high-conflict family dynamics.

They will be required to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
