Our client, a long-established family-owned business with over 50 years' experience in bulk earthworks and industrial site development, is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join their Ipswich-based team.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy machinery, including Dozers, Graders, Excavators, and Moxy Trucks. This is a hands‐on role within a small team where safety, efficiency, and flexibility are essential.
This position is permanent, based locally in Ipswich, and offers a company vehicle as well as opportunities for overtime on top of your salary. You will need to work safely, efficiently, and flexibly, handling a wide range of mechanical issues day‐to‐day.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery
* Work on equipment including Dozers, Graders, Excavators, and Moxy Trucks
* Use machining tools such as lathes and milling machines for repairs
* Collaborate with team members to ensure safe and efficient operations
Requirements:
* Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
* Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and mechanical components
* Experience with CAT mobile plant equipment (D6, D7, D8, 730, 740, 615, Associated 623)
* Own tools required; HR Truck licence is desirable
* Proficient with machining tools (lathes, milling machines)
* Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
* Contactable references from past supervisors
