A Day in the Life
L'Oréal Luxe is seeking an accomplished and strategic HR Manager (Retail) to lead our human relations strategy and operations for our Aesop retail teams across Australia and New Zealand. This pivotal leadership role will be instrumental in shaping the culture, talent, and organisational effectiveness of our retail workforce, driving strategic HR initiatives that directly contribute to business growth and an unparalleled retail employee experience over a 12 month maximum term contract
Over a 12 month maximum term contract you will report to the Human Relations Director, Luxury Division you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that attract, retain, and develop top talent, foster a high-performance culture, ensure robust employee relations, and navigate complex industrial landscapes. This role demands a proactive, results-oriented leader with a deep understanding of the retail sector, strong business acumen, and a proven track record in strategic HR leadership, including experience with union negotiations and managing change.
About The Role
Strategic HR Leadership & Business Partnership:Serve as the primary strategic HR partner to the Luxe CMO and Luxe National REM translating business objectives into comprehensive HR strategies and initiatives.Lead the development and execution of the overall HR agenda for Aesop Retail, aligning with global L'Oréal HR strategies and local market needs.Provide expert counsel and guidance to senior leaders on all people-related matters, including organisational design, change management, and workforce planning.Team Leadership & Development:Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 3 HR professionals fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Ensure the HR team provides exceptional support and strategic guidance to retail employees and managers across the division.Industrial Relations & Union Negotiations:Develop and implement strategies for effective industrial relations management, ensuring compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.Lead and participate in union negotiations, fostering constructive relationships with union representatives and ensuring favorable outcomes that support business objectives while maintaining positive employee relations.Manage complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair processes and adherence to legal requirements and company policy.Talent Management & Development:Oversee talent strategy for Aesop Retail, from attraction and acquisition to development, retention, and succession planning for all levels, including leadership roles.Champion talent initiatives (ASCEND), including performance development cycles (CONNECT), leadership development programs, and career paths, to build a robust talent pipeline in retail.Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure best-in-class recruitment strategies for the retail workforce.Organisational Effectiveness & Change Management:Lead organizational design initiatives to optimize structure and drive efficiency within the Luxe Retail division.Drive and support change management efforts related to integration initiatives, systems or technology implementations.Compensation & Benefits Strategy:Collaborate with the C&B team to design and implement competitive compensation and benefits strategies that attract and retain top talent within the luxury retail market, ensuring fairness and equity.HR Policy, Compliance & Analytics:Ensure the consistent application of L'Oréal's global HR policies, local labor laws, and best practices across all Luxe Retail markets, mitigating risks and promoting a compliant and ethical workplace.Leverage HR analytics and data to identify trends, inform strategic decision-making, and report on key HR metrics to the leadership team.
We Are Looking For
Proven experience in managing industrial relations and successfully leading union negotiations.Proven experience managing large-scale change initiativesDemonstrated ability to operate effectively within a global organisationStrong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Exceptional communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels of the organisation.Demonstrated experience in leading and developing HR teams.In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
