About the role As the Senior Director, Resilience & Cyber Security, you will play a critical leadership role in protecting and enabling the University’s digital future. Leading a specialist team, you will shape and deliver Deakin’s enterprise cyber security and resilience capability, ensuring the University remains secure while continuing to innovate, grow and transform. Reporting to the Chief Information & Infrastructure Officer, you will work in close partnership with university executives, senior leaders and external partners, you will align cyber security strategy, policy and technology with Deakin’s values, culture and long-term strategic objectives. You will champion a proactive, customer-centric approach to resilience - integrating physical and digital security, incident response, risk management and continuous improvement to deliver secure, seamless and trusted outcomes for our community. Your key responsibilities will include: Setting and leading Deakin’s cyber security and resilience strategy in alignment with the University Strategic Plan and Digital Strategy Overseeing university-wide cyber incident response, risk management and resilience planning Providing strategic advice to executive leadership on current and emerging cyber risks and opportunities Building strong, collaborative partnerships across the University and with external vendors and industry partners Leading, developing and inspiring a high-performing cyber security team, fostering innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement Monitoring the evolving cyber threat landscape and translating insights into practical, future-focused solutions Ensuring strong governance, accountability, reporting and decision-making across cyber initiatives About you You are a strategic, credible and values-led leader with deep expertise in cyber security and organisational resilience. You bring a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale cyber initiatives in complex environments, along with the confidence and capability to influence at executive level and lead through change. Comfortable operating in ambiguity, you balance risk, innovation and customer experience to deliver outcomes that protect the organisation while enabling its future success.
